Three years ago, I specifically planned to be Wednesday Adams and it was perfect for 2020 which felt like a year of Wednesdays. However, last year and this year I definitely did not plan. So, at the last minute I had to scrounge together items in my home to make an impromptu Halloween costumes. Now, when I say impromptu, I mean looking for anything that isn’t my every day wear. This can be a blessing and a curse for someone like me. A blessing because I’m a shopaholic so I always have options. A curse because my style is eclectic so the likelihood of me wearing something the other 364 days of the year that others would only wear on Halloween is very high. Actually, both years having my eclectic style has paid off well. So maybe no curse, just blessings. In 2021 I managed to pull off a flower child look with bell bottoms and a flower headband. It worked, especially considering I pulled it together on October 30. Well this year my friends and I got tickets to Trap Karaoke (side note: if you haven’t gone, go…it’s a whole hip hop vibe)! Well when my friend asked me the morning of the party what my costume is, my reply was “oh, we’re wearing costumes. Nonetheless, I pulled together what’s now one of my favorite Halloween looks. I was a saloon girl. A corset that I’ve had forever but had never worn was the star of the ensemble. And who doesn’t love a brim hat and boots with fringe. When I say it came together nicely, I’m being modest. I was cute! The outfit was cute. This one made my top 5 Halloween list. Not bad for impromptu. </p><p><br></p><p style="text-align: left;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=15kXFDXfTt04GDanGJIapu5wcYBmisKz5" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=15kXFDXfTt04GDanGJIapu5wcYBmisKz5" style="max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><br></p><p style="text-align: left;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1lFaHY7jzgiSg-r-2svH8AQHRyOyejd1a" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1lFaHY7jzgiSg-r-2svH8AQHRyOyejd1a" style="max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><br></p><p style="text-align: left;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1zZB_uc3ncom7sAQXEDYcee5jSepNIm18" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1zZB_uc3ncom7sAQXEDYcee5jSepNIm18" style="max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><br></p>BBBhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14677061608978666641noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-425038516539092587.post-5765240149479562732022-09-20T22:26:00.000-04:002022-11-16T22:57:33.001-05:00Buenas Dias I’ve been lucky to travel to some of the most beautiful places in the world. Some far, some not so far. Mexico happens to be one of those that’s not so far but far enough. Mexico is technically in our backyard so I’m surprised it’s only my second time traveling there. The first was on a cruise. I visited the Mayan Ruins, and toured the countryside and the mosquitoes ate my butt up. But this time I went to a gorgeous resort, spent a long weekend reading, eating, drinking, listening to music and watching sunsets on the beach. It was just the RnR that I needed. Oh, I also packed the heavy duty mosquito repellent this time around although I didn’t even need it. So what did I wear to relax in? Of course I had to look cute … it’s still vacation. <div><br></div><div style="text-align: left;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1hzAVpDCkp3d0mpcILJWMK0qAcYP5GQDm" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1hzAVpDCkp3d0mpcILJWMK0qAcYP5GQDm" style="font-size: 12pt; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1WHUdngOW3kkuOF8HRZLCRV084pQw8B9D" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1WHUdngOW3kkuOF8HRZLCRV084pQw8B9D" style="max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><br></div><div style="text-align: left;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1UCyiVezoYqEK7u22vJ8ry5dgxdxo1N4E" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1UCyiVezoYqEK7u22vJ8ry5dgxdxo1N4E" style="max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><br></div><div style="text-align: left;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1_K1oKxAWY2NSp_7SZIsBRSnvr755PESV" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1_K1oKxAWY2NSp_7SZIsBRSnvr755PESV" style="max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><br></div>BBBhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14677061608978666641noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-425038516539092587.post-67978311851457346592022-08-08T23:36:00.000-04:002022-11-16T22:54:06.332-05:00Wedding Flow I love weddings, as I’m sure I’ve mentioned in the past. Well this is absolutely my favorite wedding look. When I say this came together perfectly, it came together perfectly. The dress was sexy yet classy, unique yet appropriate, fit beautifully and made me look skinny. The shoes were comfortable, stunning, creative and sophisticated. The jewelry was elegant and cheap. And my hair, well I did it myself and let’s just say your girl did that. Thanks grandma for the hair style recommendation! The entire look, from the dress to the jewelry came from Shein. Full disclosure, I did have the dress slightly altered for length and calf fit. All together, with the alterations, this ensemble cost $150. <div><br></div><div style="text-align: left;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1cX82quJuaRFc9BFAVc1pbIp_8kEIf7yB" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1cX82quJuaRFc9BFAVc1pbIp_8kEIf7yB" style="max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><br></div><div style="text-align: left;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1VUx020WOwUXj1kQFwSyIB0BkunT7tEIJ" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1VUx020WOwUXj1kQFwSyIB0BkunT7tEIJ" style="max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><br></div>BBBhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14677061608978666641noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-425038516539092587.post-47890441182516867352022-07-14T23:13:00.000-04:002022-11-16T22:53:05.666-05:00When There’s Nothing to WearSometime you just have to get dolled up and go out on the town. Well what do you wear when you’ve already worn everything in your closet? You wear black and accessorize, accessorize, accessorize. Black is classic, sexy, slimming and goes with everything. You may have worn the outfit a thousand times but if you change five things it will look like a brand new fit. What are those five<span style="font-size: 12pt; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; display: inline !important;"> things? Well, I thought you’d never ask. </span><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%;"><br></span><div><div><div>1. Jewelry</div><div>2. Purse</div><div>3. Shoes</div><div>4. Makeup</div><div>5. Memorial Day weekend I took a last-minute trip to San Diego and fell in love. It’s such a beautiful city made up of diverse landscape, culture and food … all some my favorite things. I spent most of my time exploring, walking and taking in the sites. So, I made sure that I packed comfortable clothes and shoes. It was probably my first trip where the majority of the shoes in my luggage were sneakers. <span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; display: inline; font-size: 12pt;">My top highlights were visiting the Japanese Friendship Garden, going to a Padres game </span><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; display: inline; font-size: 12pt;">and having dinner at Juniper and Ivy. I also really enjoyed La Jolla Cove and Coronado Island. The Japanese Friendship Garden is absolutely stunning and so serene. The San Diego padres stadium is one of the coolest stadiums that I’ve visited. and Juniper and Ivy, well there is no explaining it, you just have to visit. Food a 10, ambiance a 10 and service a 10. Actually, I take that back, the food is a 15. Anyway, you get the point. Well enough about that, I know you came to see what I wore. First of all, I bought nothing new…I told you it was a last minute trip. Second of all, comfort was key…I did a lot of walking and it was chilly in the morning and evening . And lastly, I wore lots of dresses…I hate checking a bag and dresses take up less space. </span><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; display: inline; font-size: 12pt;"><br></span></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; display: inline; font-size: 12pt;">So here’s what I wore in SD!</span></div><div><br></div><div style="text-align: left;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1l7mDLjEAx3XvbberSZCQXeNPN5cARFkB" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1l7mDLjEAx3XvbberSZCQXeNPN5cARFkB" style="max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1Q-m5rtYc9x-uRSj_11ij3I-JBFhc3HRj" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1Q-m5rtYc9x-uRSj_11ij3I-JBFhc3HRj" style="font-size: 12pt; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=15hvqME_qKlqXr_khXkZmCxJUza_3DuOl" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=15hvqME_qKlqXr_khXkZmCxJUza_3DuOl" style="font-size: 12pt; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><br></div>BBBhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14677061608978666641noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-425038516539092587.post-19597073177498563712022-05-21T21:51:00.008-04:002022-05-21T21:58:29.930-04:00Do Your Research<p>Everyone knows that I love shopping. Everyone knows that I love beautifiul clothing. Everyone knows that I love good sales. Well one thing you might not know, I despise feeling gypped. Well that extends to shopping. If I buy anything from food to clothes, and I don't believe the price fair, that's problamatic. Well I've recently been doing a lot of online dress shopping for an upcoming wedding. And ya'll know I love weddings too. Like most of my occasions, I buy tons of dresses and then return the ones that I don't like. Well this week, while shopping, I came across the exact same dress at Eloquii and Shein. I shouldn't have been surprised because I follow a woman on IG who often compares various brands to Shein including Zara. So I knew this was a thing, I'd just never experienced it. Well now I can say that I have. The only difference between the two dresses, other than the price of course, is the color. The dress at Eloquii is red and the one at Shein comes in green and apricot (aka gold). However, the price is the real WTF. Well we all know Shein stuff be dirt cheap so I aint even going to ask ya'll which one you think was the gypper. However, can you guess how much more the Eloquii dress is being sold for? Well, let's just say there is a 400% markup. Yes, that's right. The Shein dress is being sold for $30 and the Eloquii dress for $120. Now to play devil's advocate, I'm sure the Eloquii dress is higher quality and maybe even slightly better made. However, let's not downplay Shein. I have purchased many items from Shein and majority of the time (I'd even go as far as to say 90% of the time) the items are good quality. As a matter of fact, I can only recall two items that were so badly made that I never wore them. Actually they're in a bag for Goodwill that I've been saying I'm going to dropoff for months. Well, check out the two dresses below and don't forget to do your research. In fact, I'll share with you a cool trick that I recently learned. If you have the Google app on your phone, you can upload a picture or take a picture of any item and Google will do a search for you. So for example, you can upload a picture of the Eloquii dress and find similar items at other stores. If you already knew that, kudos to you (I was just put on game a few months ago). And if you didn't know that, you're welcome. Happy Shopping!!!</p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-_-FqgBJC2yFyjo_0NJLWUIvWnrzVGz3SQXF9D_Gr7OezJhtVy5MhdASfXrGsD8JTOh1zdTGf5rmnkzIe-3LzxdTYfuGwhvl2FPdWTuQVn_BId-FzeX0-YN1--BomeLq-SZigKXE8Oq9KiWS9s2wQTQdOLnqi_y1-3AgC_2zRHhBNyofhiXxHafNa/s1370/IMG_6739.JPG" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1370" data-original-width="1050" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-_-FqgBJC2yFyjo_0NJLWUIvWnrzVGz3SQXF9D_Gr7OezJhtVy5MhdASfXrGsD8JTOh1zdTGf5rmnkzIe-3LzxdTYfuGwhvl2FPdWTuQVn_BId-FzeX0-YN1--BomeLq-SZigKXE8Oq9KiWS9s2wQTQdOLnqi_y1-3AgC_2zRHhBNyofhiXxHafNa/s320/IMG_6739.JPG" width="245" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.eloquii.com/mini-satin-wrap-dress/1248222.html?dwvar_1248222_colorCode=41&index=9&item_list_id=search_results&item_list_name=Search%20Results">https://www.eloquii.com/mini-satin-wrap-dress/1248222.html?dwvar_1248222_colorCode=41&index=9&item_list_id=search_results&item_list_name=Search%20Results</a> </td></tr></tbody></table><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhf7ggM94o59H9RhgZKfUPvWVawH6YBsDVvRfF10hDEEk1u8BRBGs7MpmnC7sUHBlYEuBHWYPgN-JdVbSf-rj24dsin7O1Xdze5b4mdE4q9x4k5BqVrK7n-a7ntMkHTuM3O9y7S352Xo1qI8MD7CJSMQJ9Q8k7NwW42oLkLiqaCA2egHwEQ6osin9yz/s799/16466159146a8e3d89f1de56c287e7fa7bbf0e9a21_thumbnail_600x.webp" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="799" data-original-width="600" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhf7ggM94o59H9RhgZKfUPvWVawH6YBsDVvRfF10hDEEk1u8BRBGs7MpmnC7sUHBlYEuBHWYPgN-JdVbSf-rj24dsin7O1Xdze5b4mdE4q9x4k5BqVrK7n-a7ntMkHTuM3O9y7S352Xo1qI8MD7CJSMQJ9Q8k7NwW42oLkLiqaCA2egHwEQ6osin9yz/s320/16466159146a8e3d89f1de56c287e7fa7bbf0e9a21_thumbnail_600x.webp" width="240" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://us.shein.com/SHEIN-Plus-Solid-Belted-Wrap-Satin-Dress-p-9942204-cat-3099.html?src_identifier=st%3D2%60sc%3Dgreen%20dress%20plus%20size%60sr%3D0%60ps%3D1&src_module=search&src_tab_page_id=page_home1653179949864&scici=Search~~EditSearch~~1~~green_20dress_20plus_20size~~~~0">https://us.shein.com/SHEIN-Plus-Solid-Belted-Wrap-Satin-Dress-p-9942204-cat-3099.html?src_identifier=st%3D2%60sc%3Dgreen%20dress%20plus%20size%60sr%3D0%60ps%3D1&src_<br />module=search&src_tab_page_id=page_home1653179949864&scici=Search~~EditSearch~~1~~green_<br />20dress_20plus_20size~~~~0</a></td></tr></tbody></table><br />BBBhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14677061608978666641noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-425038516539092587.post-7911451120447130562022-04-13T16:41:00.001-04:002022-04-13T16:41:37.105-04:00Why Not?About a month ago I was chatting with a friend and she asked me about my recent trip to Italy. I exclaimed "it was beautiful, the food was good, the weather was surprisingly nice for winter in Europe," etc. etc."Her reply, you're always on the go." My reply, still excited, "Yeah, girl! As a matter of fact I'm headed to Antigua, Guatemala in about two weeks for my birthday." She, now obviously annoyed with my galavanting, yells "GUATEMALA? Why do you want to go there?" My reply, now confused by her response and tone "why not?" Her response, well she didn't respond. Therefore, I elaborated, "I've never been, it looks beautiful and historic. So, why not?" I have yet to get a response to my "why not" question. She was not the only person who asked me why I'm going to Guatemala. And that question totally baffled me every time. I want to go EVERYWHERE. I can't imagine not traveling to unknown parts of the world. One co-worker said, "isn't Guatemala dangerous?" Well isn't everywhere dangerous. Yesterday, nearly two dozen people were injured during a shooting in the New York subway. I've been there many, many times and I've never been asked why I'm going to New York. I live and work in the DC area. And according to <a href="https://crimegrade.org/violent-crime-washington-dc-metro/">Crime Grade</a>, DC's crime rating is a C and a crime occurs every 3 minutes (on average) in the Washington metro area. So, why not? Literally, if it's not a war-torn country and I haven't been, then nine times out of ten I want to go. Well, let's talk about Guatemala. Yes, I understand that Guatemala has a bad reputation and admittedly, I knew very little about the country prior to a year ago. However, a buddy of mine visited Antigua, his pictures were amazing, and it seemed like he had a great time. So, I started doing a little research and found out that Antigua is quite popular among backpackers, it's a colonial town about an hour from Guatemala City, has beautiful mountain views, only an hour and half from active volcanoes, has a vibrant night life, tons of quant restaurants, booming markets selling traditional textiles and a top producer of chocolate and coffee. Sounds like my type of town! And, when my birthday was approaching, I decided to look into flights and much to my surprise the flights were pretty inexpensive ... probably because it's not on people's radar yet. So I booked a flight, found the most adorable air bnb and had one of the best trips I've ever had. In fact, it was way too short and I'm already planning to go back for a longer visit. The people were friendly, the food was delicious, the town is beautiful, the history is unique, and I had a blast! So, the next time, you're thinking of a short getaway to somewhere off the beaten path, and not super touristy yet (but it's coming), consider Antigua, Guatemala! Why not!<div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDokFPgRnryxKUkwJ4nbPsyWqa4GMsJ_FeKQxqyuqW8mib3SniLIlHyhgoxqPxtmw4cFy6u3LpUVShY4yNAl0DBlEbGSGzldiNpsX4Ccowfh-goU4ldcUUIUZhVhWhUnnhwaV9wlvcMBfdDf_LbVeZGyLeg1QzroS07vA8YvmR64YY-eL9cuMdVnuX/s1800/277982400_10102446818138813_7984530022909560291_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; <p class="p1"><span class="s1"><font face="sans-serif" size="3"><span style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.3); -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0); color: white; font-family: trebuchet; text-size-adjust: 100%;">What’s something you’ve always dreamt of? Maybe like skydiving or mountain climbing or losing weight or sleeping with your celebrity crush? Well there are a lot of things on my dreams/bucket/travel list and I recently got to fulfill two of them. One was going to Italy And two was attending fashion week in another country. So you can imagine how excited I was when two of my dreams became reality Milan and fashion . God works in mysterious ways because when I booked the trip to Italy, I didn’t know it was fashion week. Yes, everybody was dressed in their best ensemble, celebs were there, the city was booming with music, parties, fashion shows, and more. And although I enjoyed every minute of Milan, my favorite part of the trip took place about an hour from Milan in a little town called Bellagio. This town sits of the coast of Lake Como and the entire area is absolutely breathtaking. We took a boat tour of the region and it did not disappoint. Just imagine any European movie with picturesque scenery and I’m sure Lake Como could match the awe!!!! We also visited a few other quaint towns along the calm and beautiful lake, Verana and Como. It was a whole vibe, from the colorful houses peeking through the mountains and the cute little cobblestone streets and Café shops whipping up cappuccino and gelato. Italy was a dream and I am truly blessed to be able to experience it for myself. Most people travel to Europe during the summer months because of the beautiful weather. But when you find a great deal, you just can’t pass that up because of a little chill on the air. Thankfully the weather was perfect, and remained in the 50s throughout the whole trip (low 40s at night) and no rain. That was amazing considering some February‘s in Italy drop down into the 20s. So how did I plan for the cold the weather. Let’s just say I went coat shopping on Shein and I was not disappointed. Usually when I’m traveling, I’m headed somewhere warm so I knew my options were limited. I thought about the pictures and I knew I didn’t want to have on the same coat ever time. So I decided to buy a few inexpensive costs just for the trip. So, here’s what I got…all for under $100 might I add. </span></font></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span class="s1"><font face="sans-serif" size="3"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYMjSs3QpstWp-9KpS21uyQVrgD3BHJoWrLvrKxGsb8XgCa7Fvtq5STEc3Vp26pxPJCq-TcFTCV5jxAmoOY_DHLsLZSFEqv5U2o7g20LJCe2xjjIKyhSE6SkfoIUMk80hVxzoaWkOelbFe8trUXrBeLyarfc-uGM2kVBvshnD9rF5oo8ZaGP5fULSF/s960/274629716_10102433329001153_5128191955216806224_n.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="880" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYMjSs3QpstWp-9KpS21uyQVrgD3BHJoWrLvrKxGsb8XgCa7Fvtq5STEc3Vp26pxPJCq-TcFTCV5jxAmoOY_DHLsLZSFEqv5U2o7g20LJCe2xjjIKyhSE6SkfoIUMk80hVxzoaWkOelbFe8trUXrBeLyarfc-uGM2kVBvshnD9rF5oo8ZaGP5fULSF/s320/274629716_10102433329001153_5128191955216806224_n.jpg" width="293" /></a></font></span></div><span class="s1"><font face="sans-serif" size="3"><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8sbIAC6c0DuNvYVW-OzjSKD4ZeN_En3ElAX9EF6ph5ifD-u_kF5-XinH5vw6i2aDVdplt6mzphIOqYHNuBuet2wjsVmv0T_6tgcBcbvzc9chSWB4Hk6TlSG7sIH344kvpHDiJRFVictPnQahMJdmvUFpk0WmebXJORMUjPoygGEKWsDxjYRlVn_6X/s960/274728972_10102433328317523_8752412171694902068_n.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="720" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8sbIAC6c0DuNvYVW-OzjSKD4ZeN_En3ElAX9EF6ph5ifD-u_kF5-XinH5vw6i2aDVdplt6mzphIOqYHNuBuet2wjsVmv0T_6tgcBcbvzc9chSWB4Hk6TlSG7sIH344kvpHDiJRFVictPnQahMJdmvUFpk0WmebXJORMUjPoygGEKWsDxjYRlVn_6X/s320/274728972_10102433328317523_8752412171694902068_n.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1BbaYJpNyT5wH_2gpWOxr3PTnMliKRe6ZMb6m0aKPEQ--ZgpIELDZ7sbdNhjM_bkbf0IhzHwUUSx87gs6a3NhAVINqH9JKxypXZuRly0O3ohiNeVnUPIN9gZoeww9KoL4aJBG2-IpK8uKVtPnhcvGUD5yHkThZmv2NsYtO2RhDbpQR1qEpelETqXf/s2048/275132962_10102433415812183_7639675123419367054_n.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1BbaYJpNyT5wH_2gpWOxr3PTnMliKRe6ZMb6m0aKPEQ--ZgpIELDZ7sbdNhjM_bkbf0IhzHwUUSx87gs6a3NhAVINqH9JKxypXZuRly0O3ohiNeVnUPIN9gZoeww9KoL4aJBG2-IpK8uKVtPnhcvGUD5yHkThZmv2NsYtO2RhDbpQR1qEpelETqXf/s320/275132962_10102433415812183_7639675123419367054_n.jpg" width="240" /></a></div></font></span><p></p>BBBhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14677061608978666641noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-425038516539092587.post-55530351031399163612022-02-16T10:18:00.003-05:002022-04-13T16:47:52.708-04:00Ugg Season It’s officially ugg season and although I am not a fan of cold weather, I do love boots. Traditionally, I’ve been more of a leather, calf-high boot kind of girl. However, as I get older one thing has become increasingly more important in my life and that’s comfort. Yep, I’ve traded in my jeans for leggings, my dresses for sweats and now my leather boots for Uggs. And the pandemic certainly doesn’t help. I have not worn real clothes or shoes in two years. However, that will all be changing because I’m headed back to the office soon and I’m certainly going to miss these Uggs. I’ve always liked the teddy bear feeling on my feet but I can say with confidence that I have worn Uggs more in the last few months than I have in my entire life combined. I never used to wear them out, they were reserved for Saturday errands like the grocery store. But not anymore! I have been pleasantly surprised by how I’ve managed to pair them over the last few months. From jeans to leggings and sweats, I have created entire ensembles around these Uggs and to my amazement they actually go well with a lot of outfits. Here are a few of my favs… <div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKyGGJQHASleHu0KW9I3lxNNb7fSKHyXvvAuYLaUEQvE36aqhNh1FNw5tgP-mGHsF51aZcq4rDCLdN2Xe3KUS-xYfJVoIjQO17aavc8_lsXeXCSuxVE3wfKrYGb4Kvcq6-KnSR7GEPcfLvtP6tB4KbBtgOTUCLurkwicYAA7EO1UixeZuay587dff8/s4032/Untitled%20(1).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKyGGJQHASleHu0KW9I3lxNNb7fSKHyXvvAuYLaUEQvE36aqhNh1FNw5tgP-mGHsF51aZcq4rDCLdN2Xe3KUS-xYfJVoIjQO17aavc8_lsXeXCSuxVE3wfKrYGb4Kvcq6-KnSR7GEPcfLvtP6tB4KbBtgOTUCLurkwicYAA7EO1UixeZuay587dff8/s320/Untitled%20(1).jpg" width="240" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3kttfPml18mROtX72_Chqa4i7jw8FL64-xLiuF3XqBvT70kNhMBnk-f97jurrYotQxACS-KDrelE9ybpsHpP4CIaXFhrdAc6zPYWCeVXOya_r2U9CMRZemuQDEwicdJ1PNrcTP2rWGGmpy2w66LHVK0uIT9W8_JeZ-inFhABr36p4Z8AUbDFs2Ox2/s4032/Untitled.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3kttfPml18mROtX72_Chqa4i7jw8FL64-xLiuF3XqBvT70kNhMBnk-f97jurrYotQxACS-KDrelE9ybpsHpP4CIaXFhrdAc6zPYWCeVXOya_r2U9CMRZemuQDEwicdJ1PNrcTP2rWGGmpy2w66LHVK0uIT9W8_JeZ-inFhABr36p4Z8AUbDFs2Ox2/s320/Untitled.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitQYhNNA2fLOTeYwgJXMCEVwjOFfSfxeuqRelm1wPG7nomL3_Qs158FTHizLBR1uJOwhvJXjFZrkSRXMPPLwpfs4iEMsPM19r69ik2kVpY3M8cujnJaHz5s2gOAWcAmQEj4II6WhRRzFQwUME3Wi89dyGpa485mAdxOBlDFP7cbRC-vONZxXsqFr6v/s2436/Untitled%20(2).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2436" data-original-width="1125" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitQYhNNA2fLOTeYwgJXMCEVwjOFfSfxeuqRelm1wPG7nomL3_Qs158FTHizLBR1uJOwhvJXjFZrkSRXMPPLwpfs4iEMsPM19r69ik2kVpY3M8cujnJaHz5s2gOAWcAmQEj4II6WhRRzFQwUME3Wi89dyGpa485mAdxOBlDFP7cbRC-vONZxXsqFr6v/s320/Untitled%20(2).jpg" width="148" /></a></div></div>BBBhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14677061608978666641noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-425038516539092587.post-14230040874340913472022-01-10T00:50:00.003-05:002022-05-21T20:36:34.020-04:00BOGO Done RightIf you’re not already hip to the game, let me school you. The best time to shop for clothing and many other items is right after the holidays. Suppliers are shipping out new merchandise and stores are eager to make room for spring and summer goods. And what better way to get rid of old stuff than to run a deal so good that customers can’t refuse. Well this weekend those after Christmas sales gotta sister. Usually I can avoid them by simply avoiding the stores. But, I received a super cute sweatsuit from my brother and sister-in-law for Christmas that was too big … so off to the mall I went to exchange for a smaller size. Honestly, I was excited to get out because the foot of snow that hit the DMV last week kept me in the house. Well, I made the mistake or maybe I should say, I strategically parked by Forever 21 just so that I could walk through and casually browse the sale section. Well I’m glad I did! There clearance was buy one, get one free. So I bought two pair of shorts and a few other items but the shorts were the star of this receipt. Now granted there’s still snow on the ground, it’s 20 degrees and clearly I won’t be wearing shorts unless I go on vacation (which is always a possibility in my world). I couldn’t, wouldn’t, shouldn’t pass up on this deal. The bargain on these shorts was so good I didn’t even try them on and that’s saying a lot for me because I try on EVERYTHING! I got two pair of shorts for a grand total of $3. Yes, each pair was $1.50. They were originally $30 each and marked down to $3 and then buy one, get one free. Yes, I’m repeating myself … partly because I’m excited and partly because I’m still pleasantly surprised. The icing on the cake, I got home and tried them on and they are so cute and fit perfectly! Check out the pics below, go shopping and enjoy the after holiday sales. Oh, and if you find a good sale, let a sista know. <div><br /></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEj-Xfvm0se9ELsJ9KgEQ-w0Hc6Y6xZgMfF7skBm2DbUHnzJFHYRZjfRO5H6crurpIewEjzKIJlC2DHU9beo4yM4nLL2lmvemiymVMmNcmOJ8oHjtkJq8CFLKzfImMoqa6UwXUe0ooWSWm_q9M4D2UniwHocbZe5UvEov-GSmkvhKWXywDj2uAo6WL5V" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEj-Xfvm0se9ELsJ9KgEQ-w0Hc6Y6xZgMfF7skBm2DbUHnzJFHYRZjfRO5H6crurpIewEjzKIJlC2DHU9beo4yM4nLL2lmvemiymVMmNcmOJ8oHjtkJq8CFLKzfImMoqa6UwXUe0ooWSWm_q9M4D2UniwHocbZe5UvEov-GSmkvhKWXywDj2uAo6WL5V=w240-h320" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><img alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1yDGo6qDRF8KoWILVy3ChTjtpKu2H0wRM" height="566" src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1yDGo6qDRF8KoWILVy3ChTjtpKu2H0wRM" style="height: auto; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; text-align: left; width: auto;" width="424" /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><img alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1_eNfisW2US96rWwxZRv7ihJZc6sCXpaQ" src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1_eNfisW2US96rWwxZRv7ihJZc6sCXpaQ" style="height: auto; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; text-align: left; width: auto;" /></div></div>BBBhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14677061608978666641noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-425038516539092587.post-57209709372572271892021-12-20T19:30:00.001-05:002021-12-20T19:32:58.306-05:00Travel is My Love Language<p>I had the most amazing two trips, all in one week might I add. The first was to jax Beach. The second was to the PHoenix area. Both were exactly what I needed, a break from cold weather and a re-set before the new year. Both spoke to differnt parts of my soul, Jax Beach game me relaxation, food, and love. Arizona gave me beauty adventure and fun. Jax is one of the prettiest beaches I've visited in the US. It has the easiest sand to walk on and some of the best comfort food. Arizona was simply breathtaking. I was in awe of the scenic mountain views, adorned by palm trees and cacti. I also had one fothe best massages EVER at the cutest little spa in Scootsdale. Oh, and don't even get me started on the night trek through the Arizona Desert Botanical Gardens that was illuminated with glass scultures. All I can say is I"m ready to go back. As as always, what's a trip without cute outfits, random photo shoots and pictures of the things I saw, did and ate. </p><p>Jax Beach</p><p style="text-align: left;"><img alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1Ahywae7RYpyHJdwvV_TQ7NGKhQKUFKz2" height="320" src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1Ahywae7RYpyHJdwvV_TQ7NGKhQKUFKz2" style="height: auto; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; width: auto;" width="240" /><br /></p><p style="text-align: left;"><img alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1v0k4bGu9iYPbDe1SWj7vcleM2cxvJrhG" height="320" src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1v0k4bGu9iYPbDe1SWj7vcleM2cxvJrhG" style="height: auto; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; width: auto;" width="240" /><br /></p><p style="text-align: left;"><img alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1DfbFbtgkK7HMgD0bIYZ2U2x0J7Tzkdjr" height="320" src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1DfbFbtgkK7HMgD0bIYZ2U2x0J7Tzkdjr" style="height: auto; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; width: auto;" width="240" /><br /></p><p style="text-align: left;"><img alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1jyMRpyLGWCHmh38wktK3Hz_1TqbnnhPn" height="320" src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1jyMRpyLGWCHmh38wktK3Hz_1TqbnnhPn" style="height: auto; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; width: auto;" width="240" /><br /></p><p style="text-align: left;"><br /></p><p style="text-align: left;">Arizona</p><p style="text-align: left;"><img alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1djdroSc2UN7zkig-c93iFBr_c77qvHRp" height="320" src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1djdroSc2UN7zkig-c93iFBr_c77qvHRp" style="height: auto; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; width: auto;" width="240" /><br /></p><p style="text-align: left;"><img alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1bgfXISnvADp556leOxGT8Vb044CPOo2v" height="320" src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1bgfXISnvADp556leOxGT8Vb044CPOo2v" style="height: auto; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; width: auto;" width="240" /><br /></p><p style="text-align: left;"><img alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1R_qefmmY9L2jva6S2DXdZqg-NyDbX4sZ" height="320" src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1R_qefmmY9L2jva6S2DXdZqg-NyDbX4sZ" style="height: auto; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; width: auto;" width="240" /><br /></p><p style="text-align: left;"><img alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1xMVYmsrVbS_AY_hBQtz0UNEANzVQdLdG" height="320" src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1xMVYmsrVbS_AY_hBQtz0UNEANzVQdLdG" style="height: auto; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; width: auto;" width="240" /><br /></p>BBBhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14677061608978666641noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-425038516539092587.post-58427885607881544552021-11-15T20:29:00.000-05:002021-11-15T20:29:30.937-05:00What is This?So in this edition of BBB think, I present to you “what I ordered versus what I got.” Let me come right out the gate and just say, never order from TB dress. NEVER!!! I ordered a few dresses from them last year around this same time for a wedding. I received two out of the four dresses that I ordered. Obviously this was problematic however the dresses that I did receive were very cute. The two that I did not receive I got a store credit for. So, roll around to this year, against my gut instincts, I ordered another dress for a different wedding. Because I remember the fiasco from the last go round, with the dresses being out of stock, I emailed TB Dress in advance to ask if the particular dress that I wanted was available. They replied yes, so I ordered the dress on October 16. I did not receive the dress until November 13. Yes, it took almost a month. Although annoying I could live with that because it was estimated as such on the website before I even ordered. Plus I have seen the number of news articles about delayed shipments from overseas and I’m pretty sure this stuff comes from China. But, I never got a tracking number, I never even received an email when it arrived. The only reason I knew is by checking the order details on my account. The bigger issue is what I received. It was nothing close to what I ordered. The dress that I saw online appeared to be a shiny, satin like, cocktail style, thick material that actually simulates something you would wear to an after-five wedding. But, what I received is a stretchy, thin, poorly made dress with weird sleeves. Let me repeat, weird sleeves. So weird it took me 10 minutes of trying to figure out if I have them on wrong just to discover they’re just made wrong. And material, so thin you can see ever dimple, crease, panty-line, etc. The sizing is also a major issue. I ordered a 3X knowing that it would likely be too big but I figured it would be easier to have it altered down than up. Well it fits more like an XL. I can’t say enough bad things about this dress, because this would be a really long post. So, I’ll just leave you with the hard evidence. <div><br></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=19RXzkAApVL5vxZlNjHPkMUVtpM_cnNdX" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=19RXzkAApVL5vxZlNjHPkMUVtpM_cnNdX" style="max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><br></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br></div><div style="text-align: center;">link to dress</div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://m.tbdress.com/product/31148901.html?currency=USD&gclid=CjwKCAiAp8iMBhAqEiwAJb94z7c9o5lv_c_bA1SbH2Ce0N9hiP4LAtBzztobwoErBU0vvRz2LknsnRoChLoQAvD_BwE">https://m.tbdress.com/product/31148901.html?currency=USD&gclid=CjwKCAiAp8iMBhAqEiwAJb94z7c9o5lv_c_bA1SbH2Ce0N9hiP4LAtBzztobwoErBU0vvRz2LknsnRoChLoQAvD_BwE</a> <br></div>BBBhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14677061608978666641noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-425038516539092587.post-42926203524721709692021-10-05T20:27:00.001-04:002021-10-05T20:27:50.442-04:00Road TripY’all know I love a good trip and road trips are no exception. Two of my closest girlfriends, affectionately known as “The Twins,” recently turned Thirty Fine and what better way to celebrate than with a trip. However, with COVID numbers steady rising we decided to stay semi-local. So we set out for 95 South and landed in Richmond. We all know that Richmond is synonymous with history but I was pleasantly surprised by the array of cute restaurants, breweries, shopping and more. Usually when I’m in Richmond it’s visiting family not playing tourist. Oh, so where did we go and what did we do? I thought you’d never ask. Lol! We ate, ate, and ate some more. Seriously, the Richmond food scene is poppin. From barbecue at ZZQ to tacos at Bario Taqueria and brunch at Bar Salita we ate to our hearts were content. Oh, and don’t let me forget the Black owned Tipsy Cupcake shop in trendy Carytown. The liquor infused cupcakes didn’t disappoint on taste or buzz. We also adventured over to Richmond’s historic Scott’s Addition for music and wine at Brambly Park. Their pizza was also delish. Unfortunately we didn’t get to see enough history for me. Richmond is way too historical not engulf yourself in the past. I mean, it is the capital of the Confederacy. However, we did stop by two monuments … the graffiti covered base of the Robert E. Lee statue and Rumors of War at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. And what’s a girls trip without shopping? We went to one of my favorite vintage shops, Halcyon. It’s right across the street from the hospital that my mom was often in so it was a bit surreal to be back there. We also went to Clementine, which was one that I’d never heard of. I’m glad we went because I got the cutest Michael Kors laptop bag for the low low. Well one of the highlights of the trip was our detour to the Virginia State Faif while on our way back to DC. Turkey legs, fried Oreos and candy apples oh my!<div><br></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=14YoyJzYwMf6r3r8lTHTTxif_CLwDJ63v" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=14YoyJzYwMf6r3r8lTHTTxif_CLwDJ63v" style="max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><br></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=161khE4zerHzxTcbXndrotG3iX9H-5a6W" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=161khE4zerHzxTcbXndrotG3iX9H-5a6W" style="font-size: 12pt; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1-elQ67ezRP3qaGOTCLDWP20cW04HT7WG" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1-elQ67ezRP3qaGOTCLDWP20cW04HT7WG" style="font-size: 12pt; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=17iX18EL4PuHCySKReZfeyY7Ds-VR-3zZ" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=17iX18EL4PuHCySKReZfeyY7Ds-VR-3zZ" style="font-size: 12pt; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=15yfyimYrZLfbAsMc5_6qKLROa38FZ1N6" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=15yfyimYrZLfbAsMc5_6qKLROa38FZ1N6" style="font-size: 12pt; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1Z6TmAfjjY1IXtEYW4diDLKyvFtbvtkYi" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1Z6TmAfjjY1IXtEYW4diDLKyvFtbvtkYi" style="font-size: 12pt; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1Dv2jycuDnt9wYK7-bZS3xSq9fOrYX_Yp" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1Dv2jycuDnt9wYK7-bZS3xSq9fOrYX_Yp" style="font-size: 12pt; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=12t7KyVykx1wqsusk9loOonirMuI52LsM" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=12t7KyVykx1wqsusk9loOonirMuI52LsM" style="font-size: 12pt; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1lwPtSJXiEBCxbP8Y-QEAv8ZCzlne4FwK" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1lwPtSJXiEBCxbP8Y-QEAv8ZCzlne4FwK" style="font-size: 12pt; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><br></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=12Y94cpDCHFNNWHwIA9zYOQweZf3oaZUx" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=12Y94cpDCHFNNWHwIA9zYOQweZf3oaZUx" style="max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><br></div>BBBhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14677061608978666641noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-425038516539092587.post-81526136352405161142021-09-01T22:20:00.001-04:002021-09-01T22:20:59.171-04:00Living my Best LifeLife is hard, life is short so I’m choosing to live it to the fullest. I promised myself during those early months of covid lockdown that I would not turn down opportunities to go out and about once things were better. Well God brought me through the isolation and has kept me safe so Im trying my best to SAFELY live a BIG, BOLD and BEAUTIFUL life. I recently went to a super cute exhibit in Georgetown, the Fashion Warehouse. This exhibit was a fashion lovers dream. It was fun and beautiful. Secondly, I went to the all-white extravaganza Diner en Blanc. I’ve been to this event in the past and it’s always a lot of work but also lots of fun. I was nervous to attend this years event because of COVID but once I arrived and realized our ability to social distance I was able to loosen up and enjoy. So I’m challenging you to live your best life. Do all the things, safely of course, but do the things! So how did I keep it frugally fly and what did I wear to these events? <div><br><div style="text-align: center;">Polkadot blouse - Rainbow</div><div style="text-align: center;">Black tuxedo pants w/ stripe - Forever 21+</div><div style="text-align: center;">Red pointed toe flats - Roses</div><div style="text-align: center;">African print purse - Africann Designs</div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1s7qyfluhw4bBHzvlWTgK5dLh_cXmJlgL" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1s7qyfluhw4bBHzvlWTgK5dLh_cXmJlgL" style="max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1TlKkO8wK0iqyN7xJakBehQ8vGOq9Cyq6" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1TlKkO8wK0iqyN7xJakBehQ8vGOq9Cyq6" style="font-size: 12pt; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1i0dDKLx0PyeHQg5B9c12keEOHnssy0JE" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1i0dDKLx0PyeHQg5B9c12keEOHnssy0JE" style="font-size: 12pt; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br></div><div style="text-align: center;">White mesh top and ruffle skirt - Versona</div><div style="text-align: center;">White ankle sandals - Zulily </div><div style="text-align: center;">White rose headband - Amazon</div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1yXhu-c5ndZqYUFfDdPxtzIWwFaW21U7M" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1yXhu-c5ndZqYUFfDdPxtzIWwFaW21U7M" style="font-size: 12pt; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1NqKiaJHRltyP8r5K7uXCjB4xUbK2kM4h" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1NqKiaJHRltyP8r5K7uXCjB4xUbK2kM4h" style="font-size: 12pt; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=14Dxw4qVznnkNAo4gsraF4oDRLWxQ5KgK" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=14Dxw4qVznnkNAo4gsraF4oDRLWxQ5KgK" style="font-size: 12pt; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><br></div></div>BBBhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14677061608978666641noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-425038516539092587.post-7338705578097570202021-08-06T01:34:00.000-04:002021-08-06T01:34:16.451-04:00Party of FiveThe name of this blog, as you know, is BBB Think which is an acronym for my BIG, BOLD and BEAUTIFUL life. Well a few weeks ago I set out on one of the biggest and boldest adventures of my life. It was a trip but not just any trip. First of all, it was a trip to NEW YORK. Second of all it was with not one, not two, not three but four of my nieces and nephews. And thirdly, I went by myself. Yes, I took four children between the ages of 8 and 14 to New York City solo. Yes, I know, insane. So how did this come about? Well Easter they asked me about the various places that I’ve visited and they asked if I’ve ever been to NY. Of course I said yes and then they asked if I would take them. Well, its impossible for me to say no to a travel challenge, so I said yes. And although I wished I had a travel mate old enough to throw back a glass of wine, and tag team on the kiddos, I was determined to take them regardless. Well I’m glad I did because they had a ball and so did I. My oldest niece wanted to visit the 911memorial, the second niece wanted to walk the Brooklyn Bridge, the third niece wanted to go to the Statue of Liberty and my nephew (the baby of the crew) wanted to eat NY pizza. Well we came, we saw, we conquered. Each of their requests were met and then some! So what did I learn from this experience:<div>1. Always travel with snacks </div><div>2. Plan in advance </div><div>3. Don’t be a slave to the schedule</div><div>4. Let them workout their own disagreements (it’s exhausting playing referee to every little argument)</div><div>5. Give them a budget when shopping for gifts</div><div>6. Travel with backpacks instead of luggage</div><div>7. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes </div><div>8. Have fun!</div><div><br></div><div style="text-align: left;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1yPwePG-Y-JRsvCSODKf5t9HTID2WPakX" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1yPwePG-Y-JRsvCSODKf5t9HTID2WPakX" style="max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=13md1hz04C737gjaO5W3HUSjgQUOvNxAn" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=13md1hz04C737gjaO5W3HUSjgQUOvNxAn" style="font-size: 12pt; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><br></div>BBBhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14677061608978666641noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-425038516539092587.post-89637780275893166212021-07-22T21:56:00.001-04:002021-07-22T21:56:58.300-04:00Back in the AirI took the plunge y’all!!! The travel plunge that is. Last month I flew and took my first international trip since the COVID-19 pandemic. It was a little scary, very different but so much fun. We had to get covid test, complete an authorization, get another test to come back, pack Lysol wipes, hand sanitizer and more but it was worth it. Surprisingly that was my first time in Jamaica (I know…I’m late) and it was gorgeous! The weather was perfect, the people were friendly, and the company was excellent. Of course I traveled with my usual travel crew … yep the girls. We had a blast and wore our cutest swimsuits. Most of mine were from Shein. As a matter of fact most of my clothes were from Shein as well. It’s definitely my new favorite shop. So here are the fits (all are from Shein except the blue dress, which is from Rainbow and the yellow top from Madrag. This unique pop up exhibit and selfie experience was a wonderful reminder of how magical Black women truly are. When my friend Megan asked if I wanted to go, I said “sure” without knowing if it was a museum, hair show or what. But in typical Robin fashion, I just said sure because I knew I would want to check it out regardless. Well I am so glad that I did. It was more of an experience, as the title states, than a museum. But nostalgia was written all over the building. From old school posters and cassette tapes to hot comes and sponge rollers (which I recently wore to bed might I add), it took me way back to the days of getting my hair braided with beads in the kitchen to tearing out pictures of celebrities in magazines to show my beautician. Hair has always been a statement piece sometimes more than the clothes on our backs. And this experience reminded me how much I love being a black woman, having black hair and having the creative ability to rock an Afro one day and a blowout the next. Simply put, Black Girl Magic! <div><br></div><div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; display: inline !important;">Oh, and what did I wear … a Black Lives Matter shirt made by my cousin, a pencil skirt from Fashion to Figure and sparkly tennis shoes ordered on Amazon. </span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1Jl5qTT04p-f_uFajutzHI2cXicPtcqtQ" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1Jl5qTT04p-f_uFajutzHI2cXicPtcqtQ" style="max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1xS5codx6tuqe0VFgbvP4k9IwwrebpNC4" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1xS5codx6tuqe0VFgbvP4k9IwwrebpNC4" style="font-size: 12pt; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1IiGqwqYRWiM0Uo0qKUmjPVeKH-5LV-33" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1IiGqwqYRWiM0Uo0qKUmjPVeKH-5LV-33" style="font-size: 12pt; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1Zfu3t0WdWVgg8V-AC89h9WJkLiKC2j4T" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1Zfu3t0WdWVgg8V-AC89h9WJkLiKC2j4T" style="font-size: 12pt; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1HOn_d5EFIrgzeDcjT7MbjsnhoPeYSeKj" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1HOn_d5EFIrgzeDcjT7MbjsnhoPeYSeKj" style="font-size: 12pt; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1JV1eUb8pE8rSKHAqgAbAla_k2wIDJOJy" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1JV1eUb8pE8rSKHAqgAbAla_k2wIDJOJy" style="font-size: 12pt; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><img src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1yU6CY37vJjNsetzNYUebkU9_ujj-Hh81" alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1yU6CY37vJjNsetzNYUebkU9_ujj-Hh81" style="font-size: 12pt; -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; height: auto; width: auto;"><br></div></div>BBBhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14677061608978666641noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-425038516539092587.post-40828480212564038382021-05-20T15:17:00.003-04:002021-05-20T15:17:42.680-04:00Don't Give In & Don't Give Up<p>Dear BBBThink Divas,</p><p>I try not to talk about my weightloss journey so I don't annoy people or seem like I'm always patting myself on the back. However, when I'm reminded of something that I think others can benefit from, I can't help but to share. Full transparency ... I have tried to lose weight literally my ENTIRE life. I was a chunky kid, I was an overweight teen, and a morbidly obese adult. I have tried almost EVERY diet known to man, Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Adkins, Slim Fast and the list goes on. I have joined too many gyms and tried too many exercise plans to count, Curves, LA Fitness, Zumba, Water Aerobics, Trampoline Workouts and more. And don't let me get started on all of the diet supplements from B12 shots to "It Works" products. I even tried those weird diet sprinkles that you shake on your food before you eat it, which were supposed to help curve your appetite. At least I got a couple of bucks for that one when the company was sued for false advertisements. Oh well, I say all of this to say. DON'T GIVE IN and DON'T GIVE UP! Don't give in to the hundreds of weight loss tricks and gimmicks. Some actually work well like Weight Watchers but most of them are TRASH. And don't give up when you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel. When I was at my largest weight, diagnosed pre-diabetic and feeling hopeless when it came to my weight that's when I saw the light. I literally went back to the basics and began thinking, what can I do that will not stress me out even more and what can I maintain this week, next week, next month and next year. For me that was walking. Every time I got on the phone, I would stand up and walk or march in place. It was simple, the time flew by because I was talking (which I love to do, LOL) and it was easy to be consistent with. Before I knew it, I started shedding pounds and by the time I went back to my doctor, I was no longer in the prediabetic range. It wasn't until years later that I began to kick it up a notch, doing more intense workout routines and tracking my calories through my fitness pal, which I had also tried on and off for years before I became consistent. But the bottom line is just DON'T GIVE IN and DON'T GIVE UP. You will find something that works for you. You will find something that you can maintain and be consistent with. If you're reading this and want to brainstorm ideas to help you live a healthier and more active life please reach out. I am ALWAYS happy to help. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjs0hKxr8TQo7x_2d3fCQlIX-hZvTdicgLC9a4a103JbG0ml-3Jin6JZgO20xu411SvmErV8mz1HsrBVR5RQ2yMD9c66BC7Rk_apfLfQPknDwltf2QcvpusbxDVW5almUuIbDmFZoSyggs/s1125/20B7E794-10D6-4525-9963-A7D8641505B2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1112" data-original-width="1125" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjs0hKxr8TQo7x_2d3fCQlIX-hZvTdicgLC9a4a103JbG0ml-3Jin6JZgO20xu411SvmErV8mz1HsrBVR5RQ2yMD9c66BC7Rk_apfLfQPknDwltf2QcvpusbxDVW5almUuIbDmFZoSyggs/s320/20B7E794-10D6-4525-9963-A7D8641505B2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Then and Now</div>BBBhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14677061608978666641noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-425038516539092587.post-43791334463788140022021-04-26T23:53:00.002-04:002021-05-20T14:27:59.294-04:00Birthday Behavior Dear BBB Think Divas,<div>My birthday is always a special time of reflection and rejuvenation. This year was no exception. Lots of reflection on the past year, a little rejuvenation, but also lots of tears. More tears than usual. I miss my mom EVERYDAY but I miss her even more on special occasions. And ironically this year my birthday fell on Easter so it was quite the double whammy. Nonetheless, my family and friends made it a day or shall I say a week of joy, laughter, good food and more. I <span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; display: inline; font-size: 12pt; text-size-adjust: 100%;">kicked the celebration off with my amazing friends and family at Robin Hill Winery in Maryland. Yes, I know, such a befitting name. I spent my actual birthday at my grandma’s house with my dad, brother, sister-in-law, nieces and nephews. They spoiled me with cookout food (a fave), lots of gifts and a surprise sip and paint night. It was wonderful!! And I wrapped up the celebration with a girls trip to Virginia Beach. Normally I would have had some exotic escape planned but due to COVID I kept it low key which turned out to be just what I needed. Sometimes you go a away and come back more exhausted than when you left, VA beach was the opposite. It was just what I needed, a little sun and sand. What I learned this year, life is literally precious, literally short and should be lived to the fullest. I wanted to crawl in a hole and wait for everything to pass by. But with the help of a few special people, I pulled myself together, got dressed up, did my hair and makeup, put one foot in front of the other and stepped into another year. I guess the point of this entire post is to tell my village how much I love them and blessed to have them. Thank you ~ Thank you</span></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; display: inline; font-size: 12pt; text-size-adjust: 100%;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; text-size-adjust: 100%;">So I know y’all just want to know what I wore, LOL! Who’s going to award shows during a pandemic? Well no one. Well actually, a select group of celebrities but even most of them are watching from home and accepting their awards on Zoom. Well tonight were the Golden Globes and it got me thinking. Since I won’t be attending awards, galas, etc again this year, I should get all dolled up and watch the 2021 awards from my home. Yes, I know a bit extreme but it’s kind of like spending your money on a staycation. You didn’t even leave your neighborhood but you still felt like you went somewhere when you returned home. So here’s to getting all dolled up...fancy dress, face beat, hair did, nails did, everything did and having a feel good night in your living room. And if you’re looking for cute, inexpensive fancy dresses checkout <a href="https://m.shein.com/us/?ref=us&rep=dir&ret=mus" title="Shein">Shein</a>. I got a number of dresses for my cousins wedding last year. Don’t judge me, I ordered eight because I couldn’t decide, four from Shein and four from <a href="https://m.tbdress.com" title="TB Dress">TB Dress</a> (only six pictured because two of the TB Dresses never arrived). Let me know if you take my advice or have other fun self care ideas during a pandemic. </div><div><br /></div><div>Love,</div><div>BBBThink<br /><div><br /><div>Shein Dresses<br /><div style="text-align: center;"><img alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=10UkQqQ6iBSU8L33UxP6aG2OSpm2QfnZp" src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=10UkQqQ6iBSU8L33UxP6aG2OSpm2QfnZp" style="height: auto; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; width: auto;" /><img alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1MYV8W57zM3_ulB2vk1ONn9iOL5zS_DGV" src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1MYV8W57zM3_ulB2vk1ONn9iOL5zS_DGV" style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; font-size: 12pt; height: auto; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; text-size-adjust: 100%; width: auto;" /><img alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1KlwWjMcxY7H4NKiqcqTpztFWq1RnTzHn" src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1KlwWjMcxY7H4NKiqcqTpztFWq1RnTzHn" style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; font-size: 12pt; height: auto; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; text-size-adjust: 100%; width: auto;" /><img alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1Ez8VjTBArJe9RCVhhTeRAXOffTeWWsyv" src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1Ez8VjTBArJe9RCVhhTeRAXOffTeWWsyv" style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; font-size: 12pt; height: auto; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; text-size-adjust: 100%; width: auto;" /><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">TB Dresses</div><div style="text-align: center;"><img alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1rXmsD-pvRiqzSCLrEriiME6wO59faL9q" src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1rXmsD-pvRiqzSCLrEriiME6wO59faL9q" style="height: auto; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; width: auto;" /><img alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1P-8PjF0O5fndq9gYD9wVaa4TkNUsryEZ" src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1P-8PjF0O5fndq9gYD9wVaa4TkNUsryEZ" style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; font-size: 12pt; height: auto; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; text-size-adjust: 100%; width: auto;" /><br /></div></div></div></div>BBBhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14677061608978666641noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-425038516539092587.post-86585871391067964072021-02-13T00:01:00.001-05:002021-03-01T00:28:01.797-05:00BBBThink Lives On
<p class="p1">Dear BBBDivas,</p><p class="p1">I debated long and hard about discontinuing this blog. In December I endured the devastating loss of my mom which has not only rocked my world but caused me to reassess EVERYTHING. However, the more I thought about BBBThink and its readers, I realized that it’s a healthy outlet for me and them. So, I’ve decided that the blog will live on. However, the information may look, feel and be presented differently or less frequently but I hope you come along for the ride. So on to my favorite new trend. Are you wearing headbands? I hope so because I’m rocking them and loving it! Forever21 is running a sale through Feb. 16, additional 50% off all sale items. I purchased these five head bands for the grand total of $4.50. Shein also has cute headbands for the low low, as seen in the photo below. Or just stop by your local beauty supply store which is where I bought the colorful stretchy headband also pictured below. Happy shopping...happy trending. </p><p class="p1">Love, BBBThink </p><p class="p1"><span class="s1"><font color="#000000" face="sans-serif" size="3"><span style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.3); -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0); caret-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); text-align: left; text-size-adjust: 100%;"><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0); display: inline; text-align: center;"><img alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1M9-6s1VC1MxbJuSTObNCiDzNgLS-IgDU" src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1M9-6s1VC1MxbJuSTObNCiDzNgLS-IgDU" style="height: auto; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; width: auto;" /><br /></span></span><span style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.3); -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0); caret-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); text-align: left; text-size-adjust: 100%;"><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0); display: inline; text-align: center;"><img alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1D_xEZ7lAmvNAKmOcvCTe4x3oP2M7z01t" src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1D_xEZ7lAmvNAKmOcvCTe4x3oP2M7z01t" style="height: auto; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; width: auto;" /><img alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1ew94MYXvfCwj7GV0C9S4wDK9M4_SJU3q" src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1ew94MYXvfCwj7GV0C9S4wDK9M4_SJU3q" style="color: #455154; font-family: HelveticaNeue; font-size: 12pt; height: auto; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; width: auto;" /><br /></span></span><span style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.3); -webkit-text-size-adjust: 100%; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0); caret-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); text-align: left; text-size-adjust: 100%;"><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0); display: inline; text-align: center;"><img alt="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=165NRIrkdHx8_9eA-lqy_jMJZre4PbIXR" src="https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=165NRIrkdHx8_9eA-lqy_jMJZre4PbIXR" style="height: auto; max-height: 80%; max-width: 80%; width: auto;" /><br /></span></span></font></span></p>BBBhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14677061608978666641noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-425038516539092587.post-33490936922975648812020-10-24T02:53:00.003-04:002020-10-24T02:55:27.190-04:00A Week to Remember<p>This has been a week to remember and I'm glad about it. Last Sunday I was contacted by Megan Rivers, a reporter with the Washington, DC CBS affiliate WUSA9. She was working on a story about people gaining weight during the pandemic, better known as the "COVID-19 15" pounds. However as opposed to interviewing people who've gained weight, she and her producers preferred interviewing someone who'd lost weight. Well that someone was me. Although a little apprehensive, I decided to do the interview with the hope that my story will inspire and encourage others. I was honored by the opportunity to share my experience and my weight-loss journey publicly. I enjoyed the time to reflect on on how far I've come (even going through old photos with my mom and grandma) and I'm still stunned by even my own success. I'm also thankful for the many family and friends who reached out to me, shared the news segment, offered congratulatory messages and words of encouragement. Frankly, I was overwhelmed, in a good way, by the out-pouring of love. The news story turned out to be a hit, well at least in my eyes. It touched on the main points, I didn't look or sound like a complete fool and last but certainly not least it inspired others to get moving and make healthier decisions. So here it, check it, I hope you enjoy!</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="316" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/E-VH9Np8AA8" width="417" youtube-src-id="E-VH9Np8AA8"></iframe></div><br /><p><br /></p>BBBhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14677061608978666641noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-425038516539092587.post-11853898134705978282020-09-28T18:56:00.001-04:002020-09-28T19:05:49.527-04:008 Things to Do After You Lose Weight<p>Ya'll ready for a praise report? Yay!!! Thanks for celebrating with me in advance. Although, I've seen movement on the scale for years now, it wasn't until recently that I noticed changes in my clothing. Over the past few weeks I've tried on several items that once fit including a bathing suit, a pair of shorts, a dress and jeans only to discover they're too big and in some cases down right falling off of me. Many of the items are things I hadn't worn in a while because I've been in my house for the last six months (due to COVID) wearing leggings and tank tops, which always seems to fit. The irony is that although I've known that my body has transformed, it was only because the scale told me, people told me, my A1c numbers told me and so on. It didn't fully register in my eyes and in my mind until I tried on clothing that once fit. Isn't that funny that we know but until we see we don't always believe. So what do you do when you realize half of your wardrobe is too big. </p><p>1. Take a video to document your excitement, success and progress. </p><p>2. Start a donation pile for Goodwill or whatever your charity of choice may be. </p><p>3. Call your momma or whomever is your biggest fan so they can do a hallelujah shout with you. </p><p>4. Celebrate with your favorite dessert...mine is ice cream. Yum Yum!!</p><p>5. Purchase a few new pieces (but don't go overboard because you're still losing weight).</p><p>6. Find somewhere to go and show off your new clothes and new body. </p><p>7. Exercise because you're never done working on becoming a healthier you.</p><p>8. Thank God for progress and motivation to continue pushing. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/A9HOS2AwH7c" width="320" youtube-src-id="A9HOS2AwH7c"></iframe></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8l0WHCGpjvmo1Q7Ua5OomZ4dLBX8FST9D538JszGgZkvmioi6-OvZedmolNeCYBla8tAI55ZGsfFeEasvDv6kMnUXNkmyMq0KDrvlYCcNQ0NQ5jpT2ZKD8aIjhfiVGXMZFyDhEXh-wsw/s1440/118916154_10102066341177693_8081369368942011256_o.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1440" data-original-width="1440" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8l0WHCGpjvmo1Q7Ua5OomZ4dLBX8FST9D538JszGgZkvmioi6-OvZedmolNeCYBla8tAI55ZGsfFeEasvDv6kMnUXNkmyMq0KDrvlYCcNQ0NQ5jpT2ZKD8aIjhfiVGXMZFyDhEXh-wsw/s320/118916154_10102066341177693_8081369368942011256_o.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="361" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Rq0ZgLyZc6Q" width="341" youtube-src-id="Rq0ZgLyZc6Q"></iframe></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSWTR6OcC4Fv-ncFaoo7b3IugxUPMh2O96C6htLwvkrkXXJg5JiGoMsr_rRUyCPctJ6jPp-assyiKcQtGI63f77O-1MiEQnMBMW4AL2HZuEUvlRCtiQUUPI_PNwEWxs5FH5kA9-k8Ja-A/s1632/winery.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1632" data-original-width="1224" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSWTR6OcC4Fv-ncFaoo7b3IugxUPMh2O96C6htLwvkrkXXJg5JiGoMsr_rRUyCPctJ6jPp-assyiKcQtGI63f77O-1MiEQnMBMW4AL2HZuEUvlRCtiQUUPI_PNwEWxs5FH5kA9-k8Ja-A/s320/winery.JPG" /></a></div>BBBhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14677061608978666641noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-425038516539092587.post-56262122609192914392020-08-30T02:30:00.007-04:002020-08-30T02:36:19.287-04:00Self Care - Self Love<p>Last night the world was shocked and shook by the passing of Chadwick Boseman a.k.a. Black Panther a.k.a. Jackie Robinson a.k.a. Thurgood Marshall a.k.a. James Brown and so many more. Boseman was only 43 years old but he played so many iconic roles and touched so many lives during his short time here on earth. It’s sad that we didn’t know he was sick but yet so poetic that he chose to keep his pain private. This reminds me that life is bigger than our personal struggles and that we all have an assignment to do for God. He was already bigger than life in our eyes. Little Black boys and girls and grown men and women were marveled by the Black Panther. Now knowing all that he was going through further exemplifies him as a hero. Unfortunately the last few weeks have been full of losses for me personally. Hell the last few months, the entire year of 2020 has been full of losses for the culture, for our people. I lost a high school friend Larry to a heart attack. I lost a family friend Mrs. Francis to cancer. Both within the past month. Last year was a rough year of losses for my family but my mom and I joke that 2019 ain’t got "ish" on 2020. So yes, we’ve had a bad day, a few bad weeks, a few bad months but we will bounce back. Our people are resilient and strong. So I'm going to have a self-care Saturday and Sunday and then get back to business. I hope you do the same. Here are five ways that I showered myself with a little self-love this weekend. </p><p>1. Watered my grass and flower garden.</p><p>2. Gave myself a mani / pedi.</p><p>3. Wrote in my journal. </p><p>4. Had a cocktail ... frozen margarita to be exact. </p><p>5. Spent time with a dear friend. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjQ3nP9oSG09JPvqJE4LYPtkdKeL1Jro9kb_IFeZBZyu3AHOFNKYZdUZg7v_qCqO12AFpwZaSrMi0G9bjzoBDkGFyJ8VE803h_1gE5HVFiJiuF3KBUdLBGqHgEmHnNJMSp8AV05uKnZd8/s2016/IMG_7289.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2016" data-original-width="1512" height="512" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjQ3nP9oSG09JPvqJE4LYPtkdKeL1Jro9kb_IFeZBZyu3AHOFNKYZdUZg7v_qCqO12AFpwZaSrMi0G9bjzoBDkGFyJ8VE803h_1gE5HVFiJiuF3KBUdLBGqHgEmHnNJMSp8AV05uKnZd8/w384-h512/IMG_7289.JPG" width="384" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTd7ItsHjW-EAvzTa99XoLJi_GSxyVP2xO99hruZvNQzEmvEM3VFhh9gsuu-7lHbPf7Va8BbmCVCF6cDw6OUIqO-fcgyGeN3QmOcQt2BitRzb0Gjd8VEPhYRUkMZhSvQ2QGeKURLRLfAI/s640/IMG_7379.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="472" height="512" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTd7ItsHjW-EAvzTa99XoLJi_GSxyVP2xO99hruZvNQzEmvEM3VFhh9gsuu-7lHbPf7Va8BbmCVCF6cDw6OUIqO-fcgyGeN3QmOcQt2BitRzb0Gjd8VEPhYRUkMZhSvQ2QGeKURLRLfAI/w378-h512/IMG_7379.jpg" width="378" /></a></div></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhA44K3pYrimxhseibTxK7RV-Ezyjv7tBEzvZ6_DdTo-ar9A79ifx2rVNCVUMSWvYJhnH3d8HJ1FKDy49_FWEKsBlT7Ps4j0MVQiMev6_nZRm4cCjkcLXK0Okj3XB6dm0WIaAempcg0_zs/s2016/IMG_7374.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2016" data-original-width="1512" height="512" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhA44K3pYrimxhseibTxK7RV-Ezyjv7tBEzvZ6_DdTo-ar9A79ifx2rVNCVUMSWvYJhnH3d8HJ1FKDy49_FWEKsBlT7Ps4j0MVQiMev6_nZRm4cCjkcLXK0Okj3XB6dm0WIaAempcg0_zs/w384-h512/IMG_7374.JPG" width="384" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsm50fX6lx4zzsUrIIuCf1UsgefcIFV70OQFG0m7i2Pm5qbpuCdALOs1sIv0L4eADuu4vEPyTLJDigxxLyR8GMYOBMaiMcMvg9Ns-HeIwh5_MRlsC1vMM4wwTVua1qRh20FIb2DTh4aoY/s1288/IMG_7375.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="966" data-original-width="1288" height="246" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsm50fX6lx4zzsUrIIuCf1UsgefcIFV70OQFG0m7i2Pm5qbpuCdALOs1sIv0L4eADuu4vEPyTLJDigxxLyR8GMYOBMaiMcMvg9Ns-HeIwh5_MRlsC1vMM4wwTVua1qRh20FIb2DTh4aoY/w328-h246/IMG_7375.JPG" width="328" /></a></div>BBBhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14677061608978666641noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-425038516539092587.post-73271685023634044502020-07-23T18:00:00.001-04:002020-07-23T18:02:17.956-04:00Public Service Announcement<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
This is a Public Service Announcement! If you’re not supporting Black businesses right now more than ever before than you must be sleep, aka not WOKE. I saw a meme that said if you’ve ever wondered what you would have done if you lived through slavery, the jim crow era or the civil rights movement it’s exactly what you’re doing right NOW. I recognize that everyone can’t protest and everyone can’t donate big dollars. But what you can do is buy Black. From fashion and food to house-ware, health and beauty ... buy Black. Supporting Black owned businesses has so many positive effects. Just recently I was speaking with a friend who’s frustrated about the lack of Black centered news programming and television shows. I informed him that historically, Black news shows have not been successful. They suffer from low ratings and low advertising interest. However, increased success in Black businesses could boost ad sales for Black centric news programming. Obviously this is just one indirect positive reason to support Black businesses but there are host of others direct and indirect ... providing jobs, economic independence, cultural pride and more. Simply put, “I’m rooting for everyone Black” - Issa Rae. So here are just a few of the awesome Black owned businesses that I’ve supported over the past few months. And yes, most are food related...don’t judge me ... I like to eat.<br />
